[Sorry for the cross post. If you want, you can send me your queries and I
will post the
summary at the end]

I am doing a study about thick Vs thin client applications, from purely UI
and usability perspective. Please send me any argument about the two, or any
pointer, case studies, etc.

I am trying to focus on following questions -

1. Was it a factor that development for the web is cheaper than that of a
thick client, using Java Swing, etc?
2. Is there any risk now going forward after seeing the browser war is
almost over in IE's favor? Is there's any other risk left , what are they?
3. Was there was any logic from Usability perspective adopting the browsers
or it was just the adaptation/fashion/immitation of the dot-com era? I
remember lots of people rased eyebrows during early days about usability
concerns surrounding the browsers.
4. Is there any study on which migration is easier - from 'thick to thin' or
'thin to thick'?
5. Is there any reason, any case study where people have gone back to thick
client Apps after starting on web applications?

Best regards,

Pradyot Rai
