[Sigsti-l] James M Cretsos Leadership Award - Nominees needed!

Hi SIG STI folks -

If you would like to nominate someone for the Cretsos Award, please start
gathering your information now.  You will need several pieces, including
recommendations, personal information about the candidate, and supporting
documents, and it all needs to be turned in to the committee (send materials
to our own Julie Hurd, chair of the awards cte.) by July 15th.

I will be sending out a newsletter as soon as I hear about the panels for
the fall conference.  In the meantime, you might be thinking about the
Trisociety Symposium and other calls for awards nominees.

It's time once again to nominate an outstanding leader for the James M.
Cretsos Leadership Award!  The purpose of this award is to recognize a new
ASIS&T member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in
professional ASIS&T activities.


Nominations are due July 15, 2002 - please send nominations direclty to
ASIST Headquarters.


***  Nominations should be addressed to:


James M. Cretsos Leadership Award
c/o American Society for Information Science and Technology

Any ASIS&T member who has been a member for no more than seven years
(including years as a student member, if applicable), at the time the award
is made, is eligible to receive the award.


***  The nomination package should include the following:


(a) Nominating letter;
(b) No more than two pages of data, including:
         . Name of the award;
         . Name, title, affiliation, address, telephone number of nominee;
         . Name, title, affiliation, address, telephone number of
nominator;
         . Year the nominee joined ASIS;
         . ASIS activities (SIG, chapter, and/or student chapter);
         . Participation in chapter programs;
         . Participation in chapter or SIG publications;
         . Chapter/SIG projects;
         . ASIS committees; and
         . Recruitment/retention (of members) activities;
(c) No more than five letters of support; and
(d) No more than two supporting documents.
