Those of you who are familiar with the Anne O'Tate tool http://arrowsmith.psych.uic.edu/cgi-bin/arrowsmith_uic/AnneOTate.cgi know that the user can submit any PubMed search and then filter and sort the set of retrieved articles according to a variety of parameters, e.g. the most frequent author names, journals, publication dates, affiliations, topics, and important words used in title or abstract. Small sets (<50 articles) can be expanded up to 50, by adding the most related articles.

We have now added a new functionality that allows users to sort or filter by NUMBER of authors on the articles. One views a histogram of the number of articles that have 1 author, 2 authors, and so on, and can select any subset that is desired (e.g., those articles that have at least 3 but less than 10 authors).

This may be of use to those of you who do a lot of bibliometrics or want to focus on particular types of articles. I will be interested to hear comments and suggestions for improving it.
