Thanks, Clement. It is very beautiful. (Your macro for Gephi works!)

Is one able to keep the colors of the partitioning in 3D?

Ken Riopelle was also kind to update the manual with a step-by-step
instruction (using VOSviewer or Pajek; 2D) at
http://www.leydesdorff.net/overlaytoolkit/manual.riopelle.pdf

Best,

Loet

Subject: [SIGMETRICS] 2D and 3D layouts for maps of science compared

Dear list members,

I just uploaded a video featuring GraphInsight, a network visualization
software providing several 3D layouts. It takes Pajek .net files as an
input.

The video shows the global maps (2009 and 2012) from Leydesdorff et al. in
2D and 3D layout, and how the latter improve the intuitive detection of
central nodes.

(there is an audio comment so do turn up your volume).

Best regards,

Clement
