I just uploaded a video featuring GraphInsight, a network visualization software providing several 3D layouts. It takes Pajek .net files as an input.

The video shows the global maps (2009 and 2012) from Leydesdorff et al. in 2D and 3D layout, and how the latter improve the intuitive detection of central nodes.
