Dear all,
Stasa wrote “I've also realized that we have never added Gretchen to the list of SIG Officers. Is that something that Jonathan should offer to Gretchen again?”Gretchen is on the list of officers of the SIG Web-site (http://www.asis.org/SIG/SIGMET/officers.html), but not on the list of officers of the ASIST description of the SIG (http://www.asis.org/SIG/met.html).I could apologies and offer to rectify the matter.
Stasa wrote “I think that in short run we need to try to keep things as they are so that we don't disrupt a resource that so many people are using, in long run it might be a good idea to look for a permanent solution (such as having the list be administered by ASIST) that would not depend on any individual member.”I appreciate that a careful transfer might take time, and so suggest that next week one of the officers asks ASIST to indicate how to arrange a careful transfer of the listserve (including how long it will take and what they require from Gretchen).
In order to limit the possible damage that Gretchen could cause, I suggest that if possible we make a back-up copy of the listserve’s Archives.Does anyone know of software that would enable this to be carried out automatically?
Best,
Jonathan.

Dear All,

I agree that this is a very delicate situation and it is true to say
that none of us wants the current SIGMETRICS list to be
    discontinued.

I want to thank Jonathan for agreeing to approach Gretchen. I've
also realized that we have never added Gretchen to the list of SIG
Officers. Is that something that Jonathan should offer to Gretchen
again? That would help to show our recognition for her efforts and
reinforce the view that all of us have a common goal and are part of
    the same interest group.

I also agree with Judit that this is something that as a SIG we need
to discuss. Having similar situation occur two times is worrisome.
While I think that in short run we need to try to keep things as
they are so that we don't disrupt a resource that so many people are
using, in long run it might be a good idea to look for a permanent
solution (such as having the list be administered by ASIST) that
would not depend on any individual member.

Best,
Stasa

We ask her again to continue to moderate the list. Also, explain that we have never asked to change anything; we only wanted to have a direct link from ASIST to the SIGMETRICS list. I think that cc-ing Dick on this would be a good idea. And of course cc-ing Stasa.
