[Sigmet-officers] SIGMETRICS list

Hi everyone,

In terms of archiving the listserv content, I've had some bad and good
luck.  First I tried using wget to grab the messages straight from the web
interface, but Gretchen disabled crawling using a robots.txt file, so that
was a bust.  She also protected listserv subscribers so that
non-administrators can't request a list of subscribers using listserv
commands, which I also tried thanks to a brilliant suggestion from
Cassidy.  Finally, though, I was able to establish that the monthly log
files for the listserv are publicly accessible.  So, we can send simple
listserv requests and download the monthly log files, which contain all of
the messages sent to the listserv.  I'm working on that now.
