Last year IxDA (The Interaction Design Association) sponsored a very
successful IxD Symposium as a pre-conference seminar at the IA Summit. This
year we are doing it again, but taking a more hands-on workshop approach.
Last year was conference in a day on IxD. This year, we are focusing on
learning about interaction design practice and learning about rich
interactions within web applications.

I'll be teaching a 1/2 day version of the workshop that Myself and Bill
Scott have previously done at UI12 and the Web Application Summit.
This shortened version will focus on practical issues of designing Rich
Internet Applications and use those issues as a framework for learning about
the fundamentals of interaction design.

David Malouf has over 13 years of web-application design experience and 7
years of applied RIA experience for companies like Documentum, Motorola,
IntraLinks, BMG, Sony, and EMI. David is also a key founder and current Vice
President of the Interaction Design Association. He has spoken about and led
workshops are interaction design in Israel, New York, Cambridge, Monterey,
Vancouver, and Montreal and has been published on the topic in Boxes &
Arrows and UXMatters. He also writes extensively on the topic on his own
blog - www.synapticburn.com.

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS WORKSHOP THAT WOULD ORDINARILY GO TO THE SPEAKER ARE
BEING DONATED TO IxDA!!!

So if you are an information architect who is being tasked with more and
more interaction design responsibilities or someone who has been doing IxD
for a while and wants to learn more about rich internet application design
specifically, this workshop is for you. It is also for anyone interested in
IxD and RIAs at a novice or intermediate level.

Topics include:
* Breaking down RIA patterns and principles
* Sketching and developing frameworks for your applications
* Contexted-based design

For more information and more detailed description you can go to:

This Workshop is on Friday the 23rd of March (the day before the Summit
itself begins).
