[Sigia-l] [IxDA Discuss] User Experience Strategy

UX - ah, the magic word ..

Although UX is a very well usable, hyped term for getting that nice project
(almost a marketing buzzword), in my opinion is nothing new about it. A user
experience is something that a user feels, not something that you actually
create. Of course one can try to influence the user's experience. The amount
of 'user experience' you want to pass on to the user depends on your and the
user's goal. Nice animations might be good for a UX, but in a workflow
application they would only disturb the actual workflow. Aiming for a
certain UX is a _feature_ in my humble opinion, and sometimes people just
need to get the job done with some less bells and whistles. The only thing I
can think of when we talk about a must-have UX is plain, proper usability
design, like front end error handling, etc

Thus, I think (influencing the) UX would hardly ever be an initial strategy.
It neither a goal, it is a means.
