[Sigia-l] Intranet / Knowledge Management Resources?

This is a request for assitance on those with Intranet / KM experience.

I'm soon to start on a new intranet/KM project and am already looking at 
viewing the project as a colaborative environment for those who work with 
it, enabling note making, additional content added to official content and 
in generaly a community type environment rather than a static database 
search type solution.

I have little intranet experience and am looking to pick the brains of those 
who have expereince of these kinds of projects.  I have already found that a 
'places to have lunch' link is vital for an intranet, no serously, and have 
used some awful intranets in the past.

I appreciate any insights and resources that folks here could share with me.
