We are seeking a user experience lead /software application designer
to play a key role in small development teams building web-based
applications for the transportation sector.
In this role you will be responsible for the overall design and
behavior of the software. You will have significant responsibility for
the day-to-day development process on a project, and are charged with
ensuring that a product:
- meets the needs, goals, and expectations of the client, end-users,
and other stakeholders;
- is well-organized and thoughtfully designed with a consistent and
cohesive application structure and visual design;
- and follows principles of user interaction design and usability.
To do this, you will partner with domain experts on product
requirements, with technical leads on technology and design choices
and with project managers on administrative, schedule, and budget
issues.
You should be passionate about user-centered software design and
usability; have excellent communication, interpersonal, and
presentation skills; be able to balance business goals, user needs,
and technology constraints; and have strong leadership abilities. You
should be enthusiastic about the use of iterative and incremental
development and agile software development practices.
Requirements: Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with two years of
experience; training or experience in information or interaction
design, requirements and user scenario development, low-fidelity
prototyping, site navigation and application design, user interface
design, and other aspects of user-centered development. Familiarity
and experience with ASP.NET and Java/J2EE development and
enterprise-class applications is highly desirable.
