That's ahistoric analysis. These practices do change fairly drastically over
time. One decade it may be the organizational man, in another decade it's
the company man, yet in another it's the innovation master or enabler, etc.
Even the most famous companies/institutions change their culture. Just
peruse through issues of Time over the last 50 years and observe how
advocated/mandated practices change for, say, MBAs or MDs over time.

Nothing intrinsic to the trade; changes with the times, for individual
practitioners, etc.
