Do you have a lot of images in your document,
particularly bitmaps? If so, try compressing your
individual images to reduce the overall file size of
your document. As of Visio 2003 (maybe even 2002),
there's an image compression feature within the app
that allows you to do this.
1. Right-click on the image you want to compress
2. Select "Format > Picture"
3. Select the "Compression" tab
Everything else should be straightforward from there.
I usually compress to about 50% and it doesn't degrade
the image quality so bad.
Good luck and hope this helps,
Sean
