I hope so, man I miss those. They were so maligned and misunderstood... in
much the same way as smokers are today.
See, the benefit of the splash page which was often overlooked, especially
those with midi or some pumping drum'n'bass, is it became really obvious
when people were slacking at work.
Much more efficient that having someone scroll through the server logs
trying to catch wayward employees.
Surely, the demise of the splash page has contributed alot to the
productivity paradox: less midi == less production.
I'd go one step further than just reinstating the splash page I think we
should redirect all requests through it.
The benefits are obvious.
kind regards
Terrence Wood.
