Unfortunately, the value of the list to you is determined by the
contributions of others, and if there are individuals whose actions are
inhibiting the contributions of others then you too suffer, even if you
ignore those individual's messages.

You can't read what isn't posted.

Trolling isn't like spamming, in that the only effect it has is an
overloaded and devalued inbox. It has a closer feedback loop effect on the
community. In appearance it is the same (junk messages), but in *effect*
it's not. It follows then that simply resorting to the tool that solves a
different problem to solve this problem simply due to superficial
appearances is misguided.

You can't read what isn't posted. I've seen a number of lists die a quiet
death due to the activities of trolls and bad actors. Vibrant communities
whose hearts beat nevermore.
