[Sigia-l] Lack of Opportunities for IA

Two things:

1.

> You may also want to look into the IA Summit in Austin if you aren't
> doing
> so already. You might've seen Peterme and JJG from Adaptive Path
> around here
> from time to time and they organize the event.

This is not true. While both JJG and I have served on the conference
committee for the IA Summit, we have never "organized" the event. This
year, the conference chair (and the one person you could label an
"organizer") is Margaret Hanley, and the prior year it was Christina
Wodtke. I don't know the role that Jesse played, but me, I just serve
as an Advisory Crank on a mailing list.

2. To address the original questioner -- in the SF Bay Area, there seem
to be many opportunities for IA and web-based interaction design. I
must admit that I'm not as aware of the issues at the entry-level end,
but I hear about many opportunities for senior and director-level
information architecture and interaction design.
