Dave,
About a year ago, your mentioned that one of the absolute
prerequisites for an IA was:
"Know HTML backwards and forwards + CSS + be able to do basic
JavaScript and understand the DOM (and know what DOM is w/o being
told)."
Does this also apply to the fellow who's going to design the
multi-function touch screen you just suggested? I think not. There
ain't at lot of HTML in automotive programming.
You also came down pretty hard on non-programmers in general:
"...if you are doing screen structure, behavior, layout, etc, I would
say you don't have what I need in an IA if you don't know HTML
well...[if] your resume comes past my desk for hiring, you would end
up in file 13 if you don't know HTML, that simple. "
As someone who is not an active programmer, but who just finished a
successful project for a touch-screen automotive project, I'm highly
amused :)
Cheers,
Eric
