Not just definitions, but titles as well. Many have been through this same
problem already, especially with respect to the term "engineer" in their
title (human factors engineer used to be a common one).
Many states restrict the use of the term to those who have passed the state
licensing requirements in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or other
hardcore engineering domains. I believe advertising yourself in some
states as a ???-engineer without your registration number can also get you
in some hot water as well.
Always worth checking before hanging out that shingle...
