I would be curious what others have written on integrating categorization
capabilities into a CMS.  I've recently drafted a requirements paper that
tries to define my goals for our CMS implementation, but I fear that I
suffer a double whammy of lack-of-knowledge of both the CMS and IA.  My
conceptual requirements are:

1)  Hierarchical, in that categories have sub-categories which have
sub-categories which may have sub-categories.
2)  Content owners can categorize content within predefine categories - and
build/refine/redesign subcategories as necessary -, but cannot categorize
content outside their content space.  I call this "micro-categorization"
(categorization within a content space) versus "macro-categorization"
(categorization in the grand scheme of things).  Practically, this simply
says that a person in HR can classify content as  an HR Policy, but not as
a IT database schema definition.
3)  Categories can be multifaceted. An HR policy might also be an
Accounting Policy if it has to do with payroll, for example.  So it should
be able to be categorized as such, subject to the 2nd requirement.

Anybody else have more/better requirements that they'd like to share?
