No, I'm saying, skip the legal pad, skip the typewriter, get on a computer.
Get wired. Get connected. It's already here.

When answering machines were first introduced, legions of people swore
they'd never get one. When PCs were introduced, writers swore they wouldn't
be caught using one. When CDs were introduced, audiophiles swore they'd
never let them in their listening rooms. Etc. (Are you noticing a theme :-)
It's the same movie we've seen many times over: after a bit of denial,
people embrace new technology and move on.

I don't want us to be caught in the hypocritical position of
designing/developing digital products for our users but refrain from
embracing the same for our own workflow, due to some nostalgic reason.

We don't design/develop digital apps for our users where, at some point,
they stop and fill out a sheet of paper, mail it and wait a week to get a
number to use to get to the next page where after clicking a button they
have to call a telephone number to get permission from a secretary to click
a navigation button, etc.

The trend is digital workflows, let's get familiar with them (Visio takes
only 50 mins :-), use them ourselves, make them better if we can.
