This whole notion of saying that b/c the current standard is "crap" means we
shouldn't call it a standard is ridiculous. Take HTML 1.0 please! Talk about
crap, but it was the standard of the moment and we moved on.

Visio is a standard for now, till something better comes a long. That's the
way standards work. They are dots in history.

I totally agree that Visio is problematic (not quite as strongly as Ziya),
but to dismiss the issues surrounding it as a standard is not really dealing
w/ the issues we are trying to address.

Companies are trying to take this standard on. I think Norpath is doing a
descent job but it is hard to support another substandard app and go through
that learning curve, just to replace a workable substandard app.

Why hasn't Adobe or Macromedia entered this space? They are probably the
only companies that could take a very good swipe at MS and do it x-platform
as those companies are generally famous for.
