Sorry, but with this logic, we'd still be using MS-DOS on green-on-black
terminals, which, after all, were dominant. Lucky, for most of us, GUIs came
on the seen. Just when we thought we became familiar with desktop apps, the
web UI paradigm descended upon us. God forbid, we might discover *new* UI
paradigms on games, cell-phones, ATMs, PDAs, set-tops, kiosks, etc.
Hopefully, folks who design those UIs won't say to themselves, hmm, let's
port to these tiny devices that word processor UI we use and love so much,
'cause it's just so dominant and people would be so lost without it.
Even an archconservative like Jakob apparently can change his mind :-) do
