[Sigia-l] Assessment Portal

OK, this is a nebulous, difficult to describe request, but I know I
can count on y'all to give it the ole' college try. Many thanks in
advance.

We have a new contract to work with a quasi-government agency to
create a demo of a portal website. This portal will lead to a large
variety of resources on a fairly broad topic.

Their conception of the site is that users will come there and
"assess" an aspect of their program (let's say volunteer management)
using a variety of "indicators" and then, based on their individual
situation, the site will return targeted lists of resources on
specific subtopics within the theme of volunteer management.

I don't yet know if this would be a series of questions they would
have to answer, or if they could do it one at a time (e.g., "I give
my volunteers adequate training" - if they answer "no" they get a
list of resources - no-brainer).

There will be at least one other way to find content, but it may just
be a search engine. I, of course, would argue for a faceted search
and/or hierarchical navigation scheme as well, but what do I know?

My question is, can anyone think of a site that approaches the
delivery of content in this way? Any example that comes close to this
model would be greatly appreciated.

May the bluebird of happiness sing in your general direction,

Laura
