[Sigia-l] Chronological filing as a type of classification system

Hello, Ziya, Karl and all:

Two questions related to this I'd like to explore:

1. Beyond "KM," do we know of other (perhaps) better ways to name or
describe or classify these types of systems and applications? (This
would help me continue in my search and research.) Are there close
cousins of KM systems that should have different names?

2. As a consultant, I'm certainly keen on the idea of systems and
applications that will bring much greater benefit when somebody with
our brand of LIS/IA/KM/ experience is aboard to configure and perhaps
stay on a retainer basis, helping clients to continually "sharpen the
saw." To succeed, we can and need to be much more than value-added
resellers (VAR) who may sometimes be trained mostly in sales and basic
software installation. Do you all see it that way? Am I missing
something?

Comments?

Best regards,

David
