100hz should give very stable display. How about your monitor
convergence? When the convergence is off even a little, reading
text can be slow and tiring.

I like reading on a monitor so much that when a book comes with an
HTML version on CDROM, I put away the paper copy and read the HTML
version. I prefer to read the online version of newspaper over the
paper version. I even wrote my own web page highlighter so that I can
highlight whatever that I happened to come across on the web just like
I highlight on paper using a highlighter pen. The electronic highlight
are then saved locally and an indexer running on the background
automatically indexes the saved articles.

With monitor technology like Trinitron, reading on a monitor can be as
comfortable and fast as reading on paper.
