Ok, I went to expedia.co.uk (the UK is in the EU) and did Amsterdam to
Sea & Pdx and it was the same exact price as if I did it at expedia.com
(+/- a little in the conversion of Pounds to dollars). It never asked me
for my citizenship either.

Now the question of travel time is an interesting one. When it comes
down to it the West Coast is central for both E. Asia and Western
Europe. The people who get really messed up would be anyone coming from
S. Africa and Central Asia. Even E. Europe isn't so much longer than it
would be for people from E. Asia.
