BBC New Media is seeking Information Architects to work within the BBCi
Content Management Culture Group
Project description: The Information Architects will be part of a team
analysing BBCi content, to prepare for content sharing and syndication
across BBC web sites. The positions are based in our central London offices
for a period of 6 months. Applications for this position need to be received
by 20th August 2002.
The Information Architects will be required to: 
- Analyse the textual and multimedia content on the BBC web sites, finding
patterns and identifying common types and formats across web sites. 
- Model the content, identifying ways to structure and describe the content
so it can be shared and syndicated across BBC web sites. 
- Write reports based on the content analysis for developers, producers and
data modellers. 
- Work with producers and project managers to assure a smooth transition of
projects. 
- Communicate with senior managers regarding the status of specific
projects. 
The successful candidate will have the following education and experience: 
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, technical writing, communications, human
computer interaction, computer science, library and information science or
related field or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience as content analyst or information architect.
Specifically, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the
following:
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with information architecture and
business analysis methodology. 
- Skills in communicating and presenting information to clients and
colleagues. 
- Experience in writing information architecture reports and working with
designers, producers, and software developers. 
- Experience of working with print and online publications.  
- The ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, prioritise
complex tasks, and work well under pressure. 
- Knowledge of SGML/XML are desirable. 
- Project management experience is also desirable
