Summary:
MSD is an award winning and employee-owned company of over 500 professionals who support the diverse technical, scientific, and administrative needs of the Federal government. MSD's team of creative, development, and engineering professionals designed, implemented, and maintain the www.cancer.gov web site. MSD's staff continuously works closely with NCI content developers and managers to deliver more than 550,000 pages of information for the general public and health professionals on a daily basis.
This team is a committed, driven, and focused team of experts using the best technology available to develop sites and applications that deliver cancer related information to cancer patients and health professionals worldwide. We are currently looking to add a Sr. Web Designer to this prestigious team to contribute toward web applications, intranet and extranet projects.
Overview:
The Sr. Web Designer will be responsible for creating the look and feel of sites from initial concept to completion, concentrating on the elements of visual appeal, usability, and navigation. They will need to ensure consistency in templates and graphical elements and utilize site-wide color and typeface standards as well as accomplish the following:
-Work with project teams to determine site, page, and applications requirements
-Create wireframes, test pages, templates, and other graphical elements for various web based projects
-Ensure site design integrity and quality control consistency throughout all projects
-Stay up-to-date on web standards and best practices in Web site development
Requirements:
Please be proficient in the following:
-Dreamweaver
-HTML
-Photoshop
-Illustrator
-Flash (ActionScripting a big plus)
-Strong knowledge of Web Design, Usability standards, and User Experience Design.
-Information Architecture is a huge plus.
-Appropriate candidates will have at least 5 years of experience designing professional web sites and must have strong design and technical skills with an emphasis on user-friendliness and accessibility.
-Related Graphic Arts degree is required
