If you're a Sr. User Interface Designer, we're looking for you.  As a
designer for Ameritrade, you'll be designing interfaces for both heavy
data applications like the Ameritrade Streamer Suite and the first
release of the combined user experience for the Datek and Ameritrade
websites.

Primary Responsibilities:
Utilizing the principles of UCD, the Sr. UI Designer will develop user
interface designs while working closely with the Sr. Interaction
Designers, gaining knowledge of both customer needs and functional
requirements. This individual will create highly usable interfaces,
through both inventive interactive design and prototyping, and define a
common visual language for all products. Detailed responsibilities
include:

* Provide input to Ameritrade's corporate guidelines for user interface
design, visual design, and branding.
* Work closely with interaction designers and developers to define and
design the UI. Expand upon ID wireframes; taking information design to a
completed UI design.
* Produce or assist with specifications and guidelines describing user
interfaces for individual projects/products and for Ameritrade's
corporate usage.
* Translate usability research findings into design improvements
* Create, evaluate, and modify low-fidelity prototypes to support
development process. Participate in the iterative testing of prototypes;
this includes HTML, JavaScript and Flash ActionScript.
* Partner successfully with development teams, strategy, marketing,
other user-interface professionals and customers to design and test
products.
* Design, create and optimize graphical assets. Experience with
iconography is a plus.

Qualifications:
* MFA in Interface Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design,
Graphic Design, HCI,  Industrial Design or equivalent. 
* Minimum of 6 years as a key interactive designer for e-commerce/web
applications and/or desktop software.
* Proven communication and organization skills; ability to work well in
team setting.
* Leadership skills, ability to drive teams to consensus and the ability
to work independently  
* Strong skills in rapid prototyping and iterative design process.
* Expert knowledge of interface design standards and best practices
* Interactive agency experience is a plus
* An online portfolio of samples must be presented for review
