[Sigia-l] Terms & the rest of us: Findability (was: Vive la France! Vive Napoleon!!)

About Italy, I'm currently one of the people involved in the TIA project
(AIfIA), where the effort to create an equivalent terminology MUST be on
a systematic basis, otherwise (imho) the entire project would be simply
useless.

So the first article I'm going to translate is "Ambient Findability" by
Peter Morville, and here we have the big deal: in Italy we surely don't
have a term for *findability*, or, at least it would be a neologism.

Now, the italian version of the Polar bear goes for *reperibilità*
(which you can translate as *reperibility*), but the italian coordinator
of the italian group @ TIA, Marco Calzolari, says (and I strongly agree
with him), that this term denies the "activeness in being found" and the
role of the architect in the process. 

So, for these reasons, we are for *trovabilità* (from trovare = to
find), that actually IS a neologism, but not more than the english
counterpart. What do you think? 

I also think that Luca Rosati introduced this term in institutional
meetings, and I'd really like to have his valuable opinion about this,
as well as the opinion of other italian guys here in list.
