It seems to me that what we're talking about is making search more 
transparent. Search will still be taking place behind the scenes. The 
"clickable categories", at least at sites with large amounts of data, 
will essentially be performing live searches of databases or 
database-driven sites to return the most pertinent info. So, IMHO, 
quality search becomes more important than ever, albeit while making 
it more and more transparent to the user.
