Hi all -

I went to Edward Tufte's one day seminar yesterday (thank you GOD for the
restoration of my training budget!) and I was, I have to admit, a little
disappointed on several levels. The first was his overt trashing of user
testing (he sd that good designs mean you don't HAVE to user test). The
second was his seeming complete unawareness that websites grow and die, and
showing me screenshots from sites taken 2+ years ago is not going to really
forward the cause.  I came away with a general feeling of dissatisfaction -
did anyone else from Houston go? Or have gone in the past? His books are
excellent, and I use them quite often as a reference, but I was rather let
down in person.

If anyone is interested, I can do a summary of what some of the more
important points were that he did talk about.
