ACRL Science and Technology Section (ACRL-STS)
ALA Annual Conference, Chicago, IL, 2009*
The ACRL STS Research Committee and STS Program Planning Committee
invite proposals for posters to be exhibited during the STS program
reception at the ALA
Annual Conference in Chicago. Posters will be displayed from 11:00
a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2009, immediately following the STS
Program, which starts at
8:30 a.m.
Be part of our program of the Science and Technology Section of ACRL and
submit your ideas by *January 12, 2009.*
We encourage proposals for posters relating to the following program theme:
*Big Science, Little Science, E-Science: the science librarian's role in the
conversation*
/This program will explore the science librarian's role in the emerging
conversation concerning data and data curation in scientific research
with the goal of raising awareness and empowering science librarians to
approach faculty members about these issues. Therefore, posters should
address the role of the science librarian in scientific research./
The STS Research Committee will select posters for the Chicago session
through a blind review process on the basis of timeliness,
thoughtfulness, and relevance to sci/tech
librarianship and to the program theme. Additional criteria are

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: *Monday, January 12, 2009*. Review of
submissions will begin immediately. A brief description of the poster
(250 words or less) should be submitted via e-mail to Mindy Thuna,
Co-Chair of the STS Research Committee, mindy.thuna at utoronto.ca.
Be sure to include your name, institution, phone, fax, e-mail address,
and poster title.
