Join Nancy Stinson and Chad Boeninger to learn how libraries incorporate
blogging into the educational setting. The Cleveland Chapter of the Special
Libraries Association and the Northern Ohio Chapter of the American Society
for Information Science and Technology invite you to share an evening with
your colleagues, learn about the blogging phenomenon and take a tour of a
newly restored Cleveland landmark. We'll be meeting at the Myers University
Club, one of two historic buildings left on "Millionaires Row" that offers a
glimpse into Cleveland's past. After a $10 million renovation project, the
1862 15-room mansion, originally named the University Club, is now
refurbished and part of the technological age. Join us for an inside look at
one of Cleveland's treasures. For more information about the location, see:

The exciting phenomena of Blogging and Rich Site Summary/Real Simple
Syndication (RSS) have become more than just tools for professional and
amateur reporters. Blogs have grown into a significant method for
collaboration in educational, library and business settings as well. The
time savings and potential for more effective distribution inherent in RSS
has changed the way writers and readers view blogs.
Our speakers possess varied backgrounds with three common threads writing,
libraries, and blogs. Nancy Stinson is a publications assistant at the
Stark County Law Library. At Stark County Law Library, she is responsible
for daily blog postings. She writes a bi-monthly newsletter and a monthly
article for the Stark County Bar Journal on Computer Technology for
Lawyers. Chad Boeninger, Reference & Instruction Librarian at Ohio
University's Alden Library, is the Assistant Web Manager for his library's
website. In addition to weblogs (blogs), Mr. Boeninger is investigating
other open source web-based applications to use for library assessment,
feedback, and communication.
