Thanks Kendra for getting our new discussion list vitalization effort off to a good start!

The IB theory of special utility in my work is Everyday Life Information Seeking (ELIS, Savolainen). It underpins efforts to contextualize individuals' efforts to manage their life essentials such as housing, employment, and personal safety. In the population I currently study (domestic violence survivors) the bottom tiers of Maslow's hierarchy are in constant jeopardy so I find the ELIS emphasis on domain knowledge and access makes an effective framework for analysis. Anyone else?
