yes but...
Best practice is just as you describe, develop unique methods
"sensitive to the setting, context, personal involvement and timing,
among other dynamic variables". The opposite would certainly not be
best practice. It might be better to this best practice as a tool kit
of frequently used tools/methods that a craftsperson picks from. but
since the profession of studying situated use is not mature, the
craftsperson must frequently craft new tools to fit the task at hand.
For education it is best to teach the apprentice how to use the
proven useful tools and the skills to develop new tools as needed.
