We are delighted to share with you the recently published proceedings of the 1st Workshop on Scholarly Web Mining, which can be accessed at http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=3057148. 

The workshop took place in conjunction with the 2017 Web Search and Data Mining Conference (http://www.wsdm-conference.org/2017/) in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The aim of the workshop was to bring together people from different backgrounds interested in analyzing and mining scholarly data available via web and social media sources using various approaches such as query log mining, graph analysis, text mining, etc. The program included presentations on community detection, subject classification, recommender systems for scholarly publications and research evaluation.
