We are excited to co-host this event about the state of science in Canada during its sesquicentennial anniversary. We look forward to bringing together representatives from the Canadian federal government, universities, and other science-focused organizations to discuss best practices in quantitative research evaluation. Join us also in celebrating OST’s 20th anniversary of providing bibliometric analysis to the Canadian research community.
Participants will have the chance to hear keynote speakers, as well as users of data and thus learn the state of the art and critical reflections about the quantitative evaluation and planning of research. The agenda includes speakers from key Canadian funding agencies and universities, as well as US federal agencies. We anticipate a great deal of information sharing and discussion about methods for evaluating research output and impact, from bibliometrics to altmetrics.
