"A Review of Theory and Practice in Scientometrics" -- preprint available

Thank you so much for your encouragement and admonition. 

 

Some Observations:

 

A review on how the Scientometrics have been influencing the Science
Administration, Business and Economy may be very useful. This may be a
sequel to your paper. 

 

This would be nice: one should probably have a political-science background
for writing this thoroughly. You probably now the work of Peter
Dahler-Larsen who gave a keynote at the conference in Sep. 14 in Leiden. For
example:

 

Dahler-Larsen, P. (2014). Constitutive Effects of Performance Indicators:
Getting beyond unintended consequences. Public Management Review, 16(7),
969-986.

 

I am aware of the critique of the impact factor and noted by Balaram's piece
in Current Science. :)
