Dear Loet

Thank you for your accurate remedial attention to our poor finishing detail.

Have an excellent Netherlands Christmas - though probably no skating on the canals this year!

Warmest regards, Jonathan

Subject: [Sigmetrics] Structural diversity and the research base

Dear Colleagues

Digital Science and SPRU have published a new issue in our Digital Research Report series, on the value of structural diversity as a complement to excellence in a well managed research base, We argue the need for diversity (supporting future performance) to be evaluated alongside achievement (evidence of past performance). This builds on earlier work by many of you, notably Loet Leydesdorff, Ismael Rafols and Andy Stirling.

The report can be seen in preview and downloaded in full from:

Season's greeting and a wonderful New Year to all SigMetric readers.

Regards, Jonathan Adams
