I do not think that you will understand the significance of this screed by the 
Google Scholar Team off its profile Metrics unless you read this piece:

Then you will see that Google did everything different from the JCR, even 
calling arXiv classifications "journals."  It is a whole new world.  Strangely 
the results are still similar though everything else is different.
