Dear all,
The Information Visualization MOOC is now open for registration at
http://ivmooc.cns.iu.edu <http://t.co/DorsP7CA>. The first class "event"
is on Jan 22, 2013. See
http://www.slis.indiana.edu/news/story.php?story_id=2479 for more
information.
As part of the course work, students will work with real-world clients
and we are looking for well-defined projects that can be completed
within seven weeks by teams of 4-5 students that have programming,
design, data mining, and visualization skills. As a client, you would
provide a detailed project description, share data, and state the
conditions under which students can publish results, and/or add project
results on their resume. You would also answer 5-10 questions that
students might have about the project, and you would rate—on a scale of
1 (low) to 5 (highest quality)—up to 10 visualizations of your data.
You are of course welcome to interact in a more substantial way with any
of the student teams that selected your project.
If you are interested in exploring this unique opportunity, please
complete the form at http://tinyurl.com/ivmooc2013 by *January 15, 2013.*
Let us know if you have questions but keep subject header.
Thank you for considering and best regards,
Scott Weingart and Katy Börner
