Abstract:
The study compares the coverage, ranking, impact and subject categorization of Library and Information Science journals, specifically, 79 titles based on data from Web of Science (WoS) and 128 titles from Scopus. Comparisons were made based on prestige factor scores reported in 2010 Journal Citation Reports and SCImago Journal Rank 2010 and noting the change in ranking when the differences are calculated. The rank normalized impact factor and the Library of Congress Classification System were used to compare impact rankings and subject categorization. There was high degree of similarity in rank normalized impact factor of titles in both WoS and Scopus databases. The searches found 162 journals, with 45 journals appearing in both databases. The rankings obtained for normalized impact scores confirm higher impact scores for titles covered in Scopus because of its larger coverage of titles. There was mismatch of subject categorization among 34 journal titles in both databases a!
nd 22 of the titles were not classified under Z subject headings in the Library of Congress catalogue. The results revealed the changes in journal title rankings when normalized, and the categorization of some journal titles in these databases might be incorrect.

Title:

Abstract:
Metrics of success or impact in academia may do more harm than good. To explore the value of citations, the reported efficacy of treatments in ecology and evolution from close to 1,500 publications was examined. If citation behavior is rationale, i.e. studies that successfully applied a treatment and detected greater biological effects are cited more frequently, then we predict that larger effect sizes increases study relative citation rates. This prediction was not supported. Citations are likely thus a poor proxy for the quantitative merit of a given treatment in ecology and evolutionary biology-unlike evidence-based medicine wherein the success of a drug or treatment on human health is one of the critical attributes. Impact factor of the journal is a broader metric, as one would expect, but it also unrelated to the mean effect sizes for the respective populations of publications. The interpretation by the authors of the treatment effects within each study differed dependi!
ng on whether the hypothesis was supported or rejected. Significantly larger effect sizes were associated with rejection of a hypothesis. This suggests that only the most rigorous studies reporting negative results are published or that authors set a higher burden of proof in rejecting a hypothesis. The former is likely true to a major extent since only 29 % of the studies rejected the hypotheses tested. These findings indicate that the use of citations to identify important papers in this specific discipline-at least in terms of designing a new experiment or contrasting treatments-is of limited value.

Abstract:
Background: There is a growing interest in evaluating the contents of scientific Psychology journals and therefore, to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of Psicothema, we aim to provide an insight into its historical evolution. The objective of this study was to carry out a bibliometric analysis of the articles published from 1989 to 2012, in order to provide information regarding different parameters related to production and quality. Method: The data analysed were the evolution of the articles throughout the analysed period, languages of publication, index of authorship, countries according to author affiliation, subject matter, the ten most cited articles, Top Ten journals in which Psicothema is most cited, and the evolution of the Impact Factor, amongst others. Results: A total of 2,163 articles were analysed, of which the majority (96.16%) are original articles, published in Spanish (80.07%) and with predominantly two authors (28.34%). The journal has published work by !
authors from 32 different countries according to their affiliation. Conclusions: The results support the multidisciplinary character of the journal and a positive and constant evolution towards the advance in Psychology.

Abstract:
The present article deals with the issue of the quality of academic journals. After we have analyzed the current situation of the problems, we propose some solutions. Academic journals should try to attract the best articles by making an arrangement in advance with the writer or by contributions solicitation. At the same time, the amount of subscription should be enlarged and the academic quality of the editorial team should be improved. It is also important for striving for more financial support. We conclude that the coordination of the different aspects involved is the key to the improvement of the quality of academic journals.

Abstract:
CPU processor design involves a large set of increasingly complex design decisions Doing full, accurate simulation of all possible designs is typically not feasible. Prior techniques for sensitivity analysis seek to identify the most critical design parameters, but also struggle to handle the increasing design space well. They can be overly sensitive to the starting fixed point of the design, can still require a large number of simulations, and do not necessarily account for the cost of each design parameter.
The Statistical Analysis of Architectural Bottlenecks (SAAB) methodology simultaneously analyzes multiple parameters and requires a small number of experiments. SAAB leverages the Plackett and Burman analysis method, but builds upon the technique in two specific ways. It allows a parameter to take multiple values and replaces the unit-less impact factor with a cost-proportional impact value. This paper applies the SAAB methodology to the design of a mobile processor sub-system. It considers area and power cost models for the design.
