Mapping of excellence

Dear colleagues,

I am looking for activities, projects, publications etc. in the area of
mapping of excellence in science. These activities etc. should be as more
recent as possible. One example is the project "Mapping Excellence in Science
and Technology across Europe in Life Sciences" of the CWTS and the Fraunhofer
ISI from 2003.
