Dear Loet, Ricardo,

you may be interested in:

Johan Bollen, Marko A. Rodriguez, and Herbert Van de Sompel. Journal
status. Scientometrics, 69(3), December 2006 (arxiv.org:cs.DL/
0601030, DOI: 10.1007/s11192-006-0176-z).

We found rho=0.48, p<0.01, N=5,710 between the 2003 IF and weighted
PageRank rankings, i.e. a moderate but significant correlation.
However, the list of top ranked journals (Table 1) did differ
significantly and you would have probably found an insignificant
correlation on that basis.

Regards,

Johan.
