Dear Sigmetrics subscribers,
I am a journalist at The Times Higher Education Supplement who is very
interested in citation trends.

I have been told that some academic journals have a policy of
encouraging or even requiring their authors to cite papers in the same
journal, in order to raise its citation impact. I am very keen to hear
any examples of this.

I have also been told that citation clubs exist in which colleagues
agree to cite each other a certain number of times per year. Any
information on this would be extremely gratefully received.

Many thanks for your help.
Best wishes,
Jessica
