Impact of conferences (,seminars, workshops...)

Dear All,

I was wondering whether there is any work about determining the impact
of a scientific conference, a seminar or the like. My intuition is that
not only the citations to the proceedings (if there are any) should be
taken into account, but also artifacts like participants citing each
other or collaborating after the conference should be considered.

Any information is appreciated.
