SCI self-cites and half-life?

Hi,

Apologies for cross-posting.

Does anyone know of any studies that report the average author
self-citation rate and/or average citation half-life of the Science
Citation Index(tm) for 1962-1974 (or any part thereof)? Actually the
date range is a bit negotiable. I need it for comparative purposes (it
will function as the values for normal growth science)
