I have to agree with Christine... I don't see much overlap with what we typically cover. Their proposal sounds much more in line with social informatics, not metrics as we typically cover them. I like the idea of the knowledge flow model in working environs, but I'm not sure the coverage of the physical-spatial component would map with what we normally investigate. But I'm not versed in this topic, so perhaps I'm misunderstanding the potential overlap. I don't know if there's a problem with us endorsing this, but if we do, I think we'd expect to have someone on the panel.
Best,

Dear all,
I don't see any relation to the topics of SIGMET and cannot say in what way we could contribute to this panel. But this is only my personal view, maybe someone else sees a connection.
Best,
Christine

Please see the email below; I think it is appropriate for SIG MET to co-endorse this. What do the other officers think? Any yea or nay thoughts? We need to reply soon in any case. - Neil

Subject: ASIST 2018 - Invitation to Collaborate with SIG KM on Panel Proposal
Good morning, Neil and Philippe,
On behalf of SIG KM, Jayne Sappington and I would like to invite SIG MET to collaborate on a panel proposal for the 2018 Annual Meeting. The topic of spatial syntax is one that is heavily dependent upon established metrics. My research over the past year has focused on linking the metrics of spatial syntax with indications of knowledge flows. We'd like to bring a discussion of these metrics to ASIST this year in hopes of sparking a discussion about how our physical environments may be influencing knowledge flows.
I've attached the proposal template we've developed for your consideration. While we have identified speakers for the panel, we'd be happy to make changes to ensure that your SIG's interests are properly represented.
I realize this is short notice. Thank you for considering our invitation. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you'd like to chat via skype or an online meeting. We can make changes to the proposal until Wednesday.
Best regards,
Denise
