I’m writing to you in my capacity as panel organizer for the ASIS&T
Research Data Access and Preservation (RDAP) 2013 Summit, to be held April
4-5, 2013 in Baltimore, MD. As you may know, the RDAP summit has quickly
established itself as one of the top conferences for data curation
practitioners in North America.****

I am writing to ask whether the ASIS&T Metrics SIG would be interested in
sponsoring a “Data Citation and Altmetrics” conference panel during this
year’s meeting. SIG sponsors in years past (namely, the Digital Libraries
SIG) have generously offered to pay for panelists’ registration costs to
the conference in exchange for acknowledgement in the program and social
media, and prominent placement of SIG links and logos on the RDAP website. *

It is expected that there will be three panelists; total registration costs
will likely be in the range of $780-$1100.****
